We have some sparkling new photos of our Albany team, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to tell you a little about each of them with a focus on uncovering their personal inspirations for doing the great work they do.
However, before we forget, if you’d like to connect with them in person, they’re based in Unit 1, 125 Grey Street in Albany.
Brodie Storey – Team Leader
Brodie provides grounded and well-rounded leadership for our Albany team. He’s been both a stay-at-home parent, and part of the human services workforce. Brodie’s experienced disability firsthand, and that’s proven to be sufficient motivation to learn the ins and outs of aspects of the sector. As we mentioned in a previous article, Brodie was once with a Jobactive provider and thus has seen employment services from a different perspective which can only serve to enrich his leadership style.
Samantha Boland – Employment Consultant
Samantha has familial experience with disability. As she was growing up, she saw support workers in action firsthand, and started to wonder if she could impact someone’s life just like they had. Although she worked in the hospitality sector for a decade, a move to Albany in 2019 invited her to consider things with fresh eyes. She joined Forrest Personnel and brought along her passion for learning. “Give me everything that’s new,” she told us.
Frankie Boniface – Employment Consultant
Frankie, besides having a great name, genuinely wants to help people. She too had an experience with a Jobactive provider, but came to Forrest Personnel because she wanted to increase her level of engagement with participants. “They call me mum,” she tells us down the telephone line from Albany. “I laugh with them and I cry with them, and that’s a genuine reflection of how I feel,” she continued. Frankie has a reputation for being empathetic, and that comes across crystal clear!
Jamie Croker – Employment Consultant
Jamie’s had a journey that’s taken her from working for Home and Community Care, to aged care, to pharmacy and ultimately to disability employment services. She told us that: “I genuinely love making a difference.” The day we called and spoke with Jamie, she had a participant drop by after their shift with a dog breeder. The participant came to express their gratitude to Jamie for arranging the opportunity. According to Jamie: “I was so moved that I cried. I’m so inspired by making even a small difference in someone’s life.”
Artwork as the background
Five Indigenous artists collaborated to paint the two water tanks at Bunnings in Albany that form the backdrop for the photo with our four team members. The artwork has 64 panels and was inspired by the region’s sea life and Indigenous connection to country. If you would like to read more and see a different visual of the artwork, click here.
